Define A Space

The space that Robert and I chose to shoot at is Starbucks. We chose this place because it is a popular chain where many individuals go to grab their cup of coffee, sometimes daily. The saying, "Let's grab a cup of coffee" has somewhat changed in this current age. Two people who are seated at a table with their cup of joe in hand can have less social interactions by guiding their attention to their digital devices. From this, Robert and I plan to film from inside Starbucks and take some shots of the barista making coffee, customers picking up their orders, and whether customers socialize with each other or instead turn to their electronics. We will also take a few shots from outside to show that the world is still moving at a fast pace even if people are a bit oblivious to their surroundings due to their focus on these digital devices and social media. Our film will show the growing disconnection between people and the world around them. Electronics are gaining the attention of its viewer by such instances as being able to watch a show/movie on a cell phone, playing a game, or scrolling through Instagram posts. A conflict we might face is if Starbucks happens to be overly crowded where we might not get a certain shot we're looking for, and not to make others feel as if we're being intrusive- so we'll be careful to respect others personal space and privacy.
